June 2013 Padek staff had On 26-28th the opportunity to participate in Communications training with Michael Jones, Communications Manager at the Canadian Hunger Foundation (CHF).
Padek and CHF are partnering together on a project in the Oral district of Kompong Speu province, which aims to reduce poverty through improved sustainable livelihoods for the vulnerable poor. This four-year project (2010-2014) covers 15 villages and reaches almost 1000 households.
The Communications training is part of CHF’s objective to build Padek’s capacity in project delivery and organisational development. As part of the training, staff learnt tips on taking better photos in the field, how to interview beneficiaries, and how to write beneficiary stories. Staff were then able to able what they learnt out in the field on a 2-day visit to Oral district. This was a good opportunity for staff to gain a more hands-on experience and to work more closely with Michael. Padek would like to thank CHF and Michael for providing staff with this opportunity for further training and skill development.
